On September 14, 2011 the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) issued a letter requesting to obtain type approval of all tablet PCs being and to be marketed in Pakistan within two weeks time.
This is due to PTA has found that different type of tablet PCs having WiFi, HSPA, UMTS, GSM, WiMAX, etc., have been marked/sold in Pakistan.
On the other hand, after the reception of various requests for extension of deadline for type approval of Tablet PCs, last 26 of October, PTA has extended deadline for a period of two months.
Therefore, manufacturers, importers and service providers are requested to get type approval of their Tablet PCs devices latest by December 20, 2011.
